The objective of the ISPL best practice database is to support IT-procurers and IT-suppliers with especially ISPL best practices, but also other good practices in IT procurement. It is a basis for benchmarking and exchange of procurement experiences.
Best practices are classified under category and subject. The first one classifies the best practices according to areas like IT-procurement, project management and outsourcing. The second classification criteria classifies best practices under category item. For IT-procurement these subjects are acquisition strategy, risk management, cost and benefit analysis, requirements, tendering, supplier selection and contracting. The database is just now updated with about sixty best practice test cases. The updating of the database will begin in the phase 2 of ISPL-project, which begins after the review of the Commission.
