2. Concepts of ION

In this section, the main concepts of ION used in YAON are presented and compared with those in UML. ION supports two different types of diagrams; class diagrams to capture the static structure of a program and object diagrams to capture the dynamic structure. Beside class and object diagrams, ION has an elaborated concept of elided diagrams to allow for selective views of the whole model. The description starts with the class diagrams, followed by the physical nodes and the elided diagrams. The complete description of the dynamic concepts of ION is omitted.
